IEC61850 process bus is a future of Substation Automation of the world. While very promising, the SV-based process bus improved flexibility of the system, reduced CT saturation concerns and open current circuit conditions prevention are some of the most important advantages of this system.
A complet system of AMU + Protective relay process bus input + Advanced BCU was delivered to customer's house for testing and commissioning. A selected Px4x (P446, P841) of MiCOM Alstom Px4x relays was delivered with IEC 61850-9-2LE interface. The interface allows the IEDs to receive currents and voltages as sampled values at 80 samples/cycle from conventional or non-conventional instrument transformers via appropriate Merging Units. For this project we delivered two units of Agile AMU to supply SV to the protective relay.
